Al-Farabi Kazakh National University (KazNU)
Al-Farabi Kazakh National University (KazNU) is the leading multidisciplinary university in Kazakhstan and a leader in the country’s higher education system. The university was the first in the country to pass state certification and confirm its right to conduct educational activities in all specialties and levels. By Government Resolution on July 25, 2022, KazNU was granted the status of a research university.

The Faculty of Geography and Environmental Sciences at KazNU hosts the Department of Recreational Geography and Tourism, which holds a diploma of compliance with the international quality standards of the UNWTO.TedQual educational program. It also includes the Sustainable Tourism Laboratory under the Sustainable Development and Environmental Management Research Center.
